Transperth is the successor to the municipally owned MTT. Its operations are effectively franchised to three companies: Path Transit, Transdev and Swan Transit. Path Transit is part of a larger operation - Australian Transit Enterprises - including Hornibrook Coachlines in Queensland and Link SA in South Australia. Swan Transit is part of Transit Systems Australia which has interests in bus and ferry operations including parts of Adelaide Metro and, from October 2013, Sydney. Transdev is the French multinational. There is little to identify the ownership of individual vehicles in the highly standardised Transperth operation, though some bear discreet stickers denoting the operating company.
