By 1972 Thames Valley's Heathrow service passed to Alder Valley, following the merger of with Aldershot & District. Three ECW bodied RELH6G coaches ordered by Thames Valley joined the Alder Valley fleet in 1972 in the new cream and Ribble red livery. RE 66 (KBL227L) is the middle coach of the trio, seen loading at Reading Station for the dash along the M4 to Heathrow Airport. |

Chard Bus station served as an outstation for a handful of Western National buses. RELH6G 66 takes a refreshment break alongside Western National Lodekka FLF6G 2060 (BDV258C) on the Brunel private hire. The Lodekka is in the "quick-fix" NBC livery of Tilling green and cream with cream NBC fleetnames. The bus and the Chard services were originally with Southern National. |
