An interesting mix of vehicles round the back of Slough's Brunel Bus Station. On the left is an Alder Valley ECW bodied RELL6G on the 22B to Eton Wick. On the right a London Country AEC Merlin MBS418 (VLW418G) on the Farnham Road 446 service and in the middle, a Bournemouth Corporation Willowbrook bodied Daimler Roadliner on hire to London Country. |
Alder Valley 416, Thames Valley 228 (AMO234J) is seen in Maidenhead Bus Station with Bristol LS5G 207 (SHN728), earlier Thames Valley 127, but new to United Auto as BU38 in 1953. |
Thames Valley had a batch of 8 dual door RESL6G. Flat screen 410 (LJB337F), originally Thames Valley 337, is seen at Bracknell, where the batch spent most of their working lives. Initially they were subject to a trade dispute as the local union objected to dual door one man operation, had they received a warmer welcome town services in Bracknell new town may have developed very differently.

Alder Valley 410 is seen at the end of its days in Reading with fellow RESL buses 409 (LJB336F) and 411 (LJB338F) - destination blinds set accordingly. |
A delicensed Bristol RELL6G from Newbury Kennetbus operations some ten years after A&D merged with Thames Valley, but obviously there was a good supply of Thames Valley delicensed notices.
