By 1972 the service passed to Thames ValleyAlder Valley, following the merger of Thames Valley with Aldershot & District. Three ECW bodied RELH coaches ordered by Thames Valley joined the Alder Valley fleet in 1972 in the new cream and Ribble red livery. Seen loading at Reading Station is 66 (KBL227L), the middle coach of the trio.
