Thursday October 27th 2005 saw the spectacular launch of "The Deuce" doubledeck bus service on to the famous Las Vegas Strip, otherwise known as Las Vegas Boulevard. The launch took place from a special enclosure in front of Caesar's Palace in the centre of the Strip. Four of the impressive Alexander Dennis Enviro500s were present there including 210 in an advertisement livery for the service and 212 in standard colours, albeit draped with a banner for the day. |
Enviro500 208 was the official launch vehicle. It was semi hidden behind 210 and 212 and draped in black plastic sheeting - in sharp contrast to the designer advert being obscured. |
The fourth vehicle was 245 and as can be seen it was in a striking livery for Barry Manilow's show at the Vegas Hilton. Vector Media has the advertising contract for the RTC Vegas fleet and were taking the opportunity to promote this new advertising medium. It certainly had the edge on the several trucks running up and down the Strip as mobile advertisement hoardings, adding to congestion and pollution unnecessarily. |
