A long stop is made at the picturesque Arrowtown, an early gold mining settlement, but now a delightful parade of characterful shops and cafes.

The Routemaster still awaiting its passenger for the return journey. Yes I was the only passenger on the trip in April 2008. It was off season between the summer tripper and the winter skiers.

The Routemaster is seen on a subsequent day returning to Queenstown.

The trip is quite surreal - this is not typical territory for a London Routemaster.

The whole trip is very scenic as all these views illustrate.
