South Midland AEC Regal Duple 50
Back to a different era. This AEC Regal, 50 (MWL742), has Duple coachwork. The colours may look Tilling, but in fact are based on the ownership of Red & White of South Wales, whose operations in Oxford - as South Midland - were transferred to Thames Valley in the early fifties when the Red & White empire sold out to the government and put into Tilling control.

Soth Midland Bristol MW6G ECW 805
South Midland 805 (PRX931), seen in Newbury Bus Station, was one of fifteen similar ECW bodied Bristol MW6G coaches delivered between 1958 and 1961, whilst the fleet was in Thames Valley ownership. Some were 38 seaters, but most were more comfortably turned out as 34 seaters for the well established tour programme.
