This was a Leyland 501 engined Bristol VRTSL3 new to Crosville in 1981 as DVL494 (WTU494W). The bus has had a checkered career, having moved on to Bee Line Buzz in Manchester 1989 when Crosville was dismembered, to PMT in 1990 then exported to New Zealand in 1992 arriving in Dunedin in a red livery in 1994. It is seen in Dunedin on New Zealand's South Island in April 2005 where it performed the city tour in the company of an ex Eastern Counties VR. Here the bus pauses for a photo opportunity of the Dunedin City stretched out in front of the sound. |

RP6117, as DVL494 is now known, is seen on the station forecourt in this shot. Both RP6117 and the Eastern Counties VR had been repainted and refurbished around the time these pictures were taken in Easter 2005, Newtons cursing afterwards when they learnt of the availability of ex Hong Kong Olympians in the country. |
