Oxford Tube Van Hool Astromega 50223
Astromega 50223 (OU59AUW) was displayed at SHOWBUS where it deservedly won the award for the Best Modern Vehicle. It follows a tradition, with a MAN/Jonckheere and Neoplan Skyliner both appearing when new. Tracking back to the early SHOWBUS days, Stagecoach Oxford's predecessor, South Midland, used to display their touring coaches at the rallies - typically Duple Commander IV bodied Bristol LH6L coaches!

An unusual sight in Autumn 2010 was this Astromega, 50210 (OU09FND) on the London Road in High Wycombe. The M40 east bound was closed due to an accident so traffic had been diverted on to the old A40 route. Since the changes to the Handy Cross roundabout major accidents are usually the only cause for diversion. The Oxford Tube control centre is across conditions on the route and can inform drivers to divert at any time necessary.

SHOWBUS Tube 50223 (OU59AUW) is seen in central London in April 2011. In London it occasionally gets to rub shoulders with similar coaches bought at the same time - and subsequently - for Megabus duties. At the time of their purchase Megabus also bought an even bigger batch for their US Megabus operations.
