East Lancs bodied preserved AEC Regent V 408 (408DBO) took pride of place in the Cardiff Centenary Display in 2002. It was parked alongside the current fleet's doubledeck Volvo Ailsa 408.

Eleven years later 408 is seen again in the Barry Island Bus Museum during the annual June Open Day.

Unfortunately Ailsa 408 has not been preserved to park again alongide Regent V 408, but Ailsa 407 has and is seen working on the 2013 Barry Island free bus service linking the seafront display with the Museum.
Earlier the bus was seen loading at the Museum.
Another generation of Cardiff doubledeckers - ever fewer in number - is represented by East Lancs bodied Scania N270UD 472 (CN57FGD). It is seen on display at the 2016 Barry Island event having been painted in the old orange livery to celebrate thirty years of bus deregulation.
