Off Cornwall Road near Waterloo Station is the "electric bus garage". Introducing a fleet of electric buses requires the infrastructure necessary to charge them overnight, which is not only a large number of plug-in stations but also a connection to the electricity grid capable of delivering the power required, so a lot of preparatory work was necessary. In early October 2016 roughly half the expected number of Red Arrow electrics had been delivered so a number of Mercedes Citaros were still in evidence. In this shot we can see newly delivered SEe13 (LJ66CFM) and SEe17 (LJ66CFU) with Citaro MEC14 (BD09ZPU). Charging stations can be seen on the wall in front of SEe13. Ten buses, parked in pairs next to the wall can be accomodated for charging, with four against the back wall where this trio are seen.

Facing the wall this ranked row can accommodate another sixteen buses in individual charging bays and a few more can be squeezed in elsewhere on the premises. It obviously helps the vehicles' range when the facility is so close to the route, thought this must be an expensive piece of real estate within viewing distance of the London Shard. From left to righ, parked in the chaging rank are SEe16 (LJ66CFP), Plaxton President bodied Volvo B7TL PVL248 (Y748TGH), SEe4 (LJ16NNH), Citaro MEC13 (BD09ZPT), SEe15 (CJ66CFD) and another soon to be displaced Citaro, MEC35 (BD09ZWA).
