London Central was the home to the battery powered Wright Electrocity experimental fleet. Electrocity WHY4 (LX55EAF) is seen at the Elephant & Castle in May 2012 having been re-engineered. The initial fleet was none too reliable, but around 2011 they were rebuilt and joined by a few more new ones built to the same revised specification. The buses lacked anything to promote their green credentials and are now all withdrawn.
