Chances are Arriva London would have had more of these smart Enviro400HCity buses delivered if Mayor Sadiq Khan had not had a hissy fit and banned them, and the Wright equivalent, because they looked too much like Borismasters! This may have contributed to the financial collapse of Wrights who had obviously invested in their design, but almost none were built and sold. Alexander Dennis faired better as some operators across the country liked the design and placed orders. It has made a come back in London as all Enviro400EV electrics use the City style body and Khan appears to have forgotten his earlier irrationality! Seen in Peckham in October 2016 is HA9 (LK65BZF).

Seen in July 2019 at the Elephant & Castle is HA52 (LK66HCD) from the second and last batch of Enviro400HCity buses. Arriva did go on to order Enviro400HMMC models later, deployed in the Croydon area.
