Few companies have taken to route branding with as much fervour - and success - as Reading Buses. Routes 4, 5 and 6 share this dark green scheme depicted on Wright Solar bodied Scania L94UB 1021 (YN06NXP). It was later repainted in route 9 red before sale to First Devon & Cornwall as their 65761 where it was initially used in a blue livery on Truro Park & Ride and later in First Kernow lilac. |
Scania 1021 is seen a year earlier in the Gt Knolly Street depot with a pair of Loddon Bridge Fasttrack Optare Excels. |
Displaced from purple route 17 by ethanol powered Scania Omnicity deckers, this East Lancs Omnidekka bodied Scania N94UD, 806 (YN54AEX) was rebranded for green route 5. It is seen in front of Reading Station's edifice in May 2010, one of the parts remaining with the mammoth rebuild of the Stations which started at the end of the year and took three years to complete. |
