In April, two years younger, identical 371 (0371AO), is on the 246 outside The Pint on Punt, since renamed the Windsor Alehouse. It is in the offside lane ready to negotiate the St Kilda Triangle. The 246 is operated by Fitzroy North depot so a former Melbourne Bus Link vehicle seems out of place on the route. Picture Ref A2645 |
In 2003 just six CR227L bodied L94UB Scanias entered the Melbourne Bus Link fleet. This is 385 (5285AO), seen in February 2014 nearing the terminus of the 923 on Fitzroy Street, St Kilda. Picture Ref A1631 |
The CR227L body was rapidly superceded by the CR228L seen here on Scania K230UB 413 (5913AO) built in 2008. It is seen changing carriageways on leafy St Kilda Road in January 2015. St Kilda roads unusually has four carriageways, two in each direction, with the tram tracks up the middle. The buses make much faster progress than the trams!
