Heavy investment in the train network has introduced many new train units by Bombardier on to tracks. Train 457 is seen in Perth Station and the famous Horseshore Bridge is clearly visible too.

Bombardier train 573 is seen north of Perth on the Jondaloop line, both pictures were taken of the new trains in April 2006.

The Bombardier trains are built in Queensland and a visit to Bunderberg in August 2009 found this one nearing completion and ready to ship across the continent.

The newer train lines to the north (Jondaloop) and the south (Mandurah) have been built with bus stations over the tracks and easy access between the modes.

This 2006 view on one of the Jondaloop line stations shows buses waiting at stands over the railway tracks. Typically buses connect with the trains and take routes north and south to the next stations on the line, looping through communities on the way. Making a journey from bus to train at some midpoint gives a choice of north or south travel to the railway, the choice depending on which bus is likely to arrive first.
