We were delighted to receive this photo and email from Harry Bryant following last weekend's SHOWBUSflyby. We have had many compliments from participants and spectators and are pleased to have been able to provide enthusiasts - and the public - with a flavour of SHOWBUS in this torid year. Pictures by Chris Strong, our Offical Photographer, will follow soon, meantime there are many on our Twitter account (@theshowbus). The coach in the picture is former Premier of Watford Duple bodied Bedford SB3 LGV994.
Harry writes:
"I just wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone who worked hard to put on today's bus flyby. We heard about it by chance and I can honestly say it was the happiest morning I've had in absolutely ages. Sitting with my two boys by the side of the road watching them watch the buses go by was something really special - they absolutely loved it. I don't know if this is the kind of event you've done before (I've seen that you do a static show which we've already got in the diary for next year), but it was really fantastic to see the buses on the road in their 'natural habitat' and I hope you consider doing something like this again (it's funny how the Coronavirus sometimes forces us to do things we might not otherwise have done but actually turn out to be a pretty good idea!).
Things over the past few months have been pretty tough but I will genuinely treasure the pure joy of my children waiting for the next one to come by then seeing if the drivers would give a wave, a flash of the lights or a beep of the horn.
Thank you again to everyone involved - what a lovely day.
Harry Bryant & family"
