With many bus companies involved in the operation of trains these days, the government is being persuaded to renew franchises when train/bus connecting services are offered. With Virgin Trains half owned by Stagecoach, a connecting service from Milton Keynes to Luton Airport was started, using Berkhof bodied Volvos released from the Oxford Tube by MAN double deckers. The service was operated by Stagecoach United Counties. The Volvo B10M is seen at Luton Airport.

Stagecoach Midland Red South operated more ex Oxford Tube Berkhofs on rail head connections linking towns without main line connections to the main North - South rail network. Volvo 4829VC is seen at Millennium Showbus.
