Carousel Buses Alexander Dennis Enviro200MMC 80471 Enviro400MMC 612
Following Arriva's withdrawal from Aylesbury and High Wycombe Go-Ahead's Carousel has taken over all of the Wycombe based services, except those to Aylesbury, which have passed to Redline along with the Aylesbury to Oxford 280. Carousel has also been upgrading its 102 service to Heathrow Central Bus Station, increasing the daytime frequency to half hourly. The service also operates through the night. Former Oxford Brookes grey Alexander Dennis bodied Enviro400MMC deckers have been refurbished and are slowly displacing Mercedes Citaros most commonly used on the 102. They are bedecked in green Flightline livery, matching that used by Reading Buses on their Heathrow services from Bracknell and Basingstoke. So on Tuesday Carousel invaded the Eden Centre, just a stone's throw from their Wycombe Bus Station hub, with one of the impressive Flightline deckers, 612 (GA64OXF) and one of the buses purchased to expand the fleet to cope with the additional ex Arriva work. The Enviro200MMC, 80471 (YW68OWA) was originally First Glasgow 44679, though the registration suggests it should have come from First South Yorkshire. It is one of twelve, with a couple still to be repainted. They were joined by nine Wright bodied Volvo B7RLE singledeckers from Xplore Dundee, four Alexander Dennis Enviro400 doubledeckers from National Express West Midlands and transfers of several Alexander Dennis Enviro400 bodied Scanias and more Enviro200MMC singledeckers from the other Go-Ahead fleets under Oxford resulting in buses in blue, grey and greens adding to the colour in Wycombe's fleet. The Eden Centre set up seemed to be doing well with several staff on hand to answer questions and hand out timetables, one member of the public was overheard saying how much better the buses appeared than those previously run by Arriva!
