With so many interesting vehicles at SHOWBUS international 2017 on Sunday it was difficult to single out one from the assortment of images grabbed when not ensuring the day went smoothly. The biggest problem on the day - aside from two ambulance visits - was the morning failure of the shuttle service from East Midlands Parkway, thanks to a derailment on the line from London leaving the buses without passengers, but also stranding those arriving at the main gate, usually by skylink, facing a long trek across the site to SHOWBUS. Parking Reception was abandoned whilst Robert Thompson was guided to run an emergency shuttle with his former Arriva London ALX400 bodied DAF DB250 and those ever helpful guys at Red Rose were found to kick off their lunchtime shittle a little earlier. Al of that aside, this image of the rare Mark II version of the MCW Metroliner has been chosen, more images from our Official Photographer, Chris Strong, will appear in the next few months, as usual. The Metroliner had appeared at SHOWBUS 2015 newly acquired from Scottish operator WJC and was heading to its new home on the Isle Of Man. Now registered MMN400G its original identity as Yorkshire Traction 99 (E99AAK) has been disguised. The coach has been restored to the National Express Rapide livery worn when new.
