The first of the 198 production Alexander Dennis Enviro500MMC buses are entering service in Berlin. They were preceded by a pair a few months ago, christened Alex and Dennis! This is BVG's 3574 (B-V3574) seen at the attractive Grunewald western terminus of the M19 from Mehringdamm on Monday. At the present time one or two Enviros share the route with the MAN doubledeckers they are replacing, though a Citaro bendibus was on the route on Tuesday. The MAN deckers are looking tired, particularly inside with generations of grafitti still evident, despite cleaning. Hopefully the Enviros will fair better in years to come. Many MAN deckers sport external wraps which the Enviros will no doubt wear at some future time but for now 3574 is radiant in its plain yellow livery.
