When you think of Irizar you think of the classic Century design or the smooth lines of the PB2000/i6 ranges, not this cacophony of a design. On a Volvo B58 chassis, UJY456V, was the first Irizar import to the UK. A further thirteen were imported, one of which joined Trathens, ADR201W.

Even the relatively mundane Van Hool Alizee looked racey in Trathens' livery especially when seen at speed on the M4. On a Volvo B10M chassis is 11 (STT611X).

Seen somewhere in South Wales in the early eighties is another "flash" Trathens import, an MAN SR280, NFJ378W. No less than 23 joined the fleet between 1980 and 1982.
