Hants & Dorset 1901 (VRU124J) was a Roe bodied Daimler Fleetline and one of last buses ordered by Provincial, but Provincial fell into the hands of the National Bus Company and the batch of six deckers became odd-balls in Hants & Dorset's Bristol dominated fleet.Provincial received RELLs instead. The bus is seen restored to original condition at Netley Park in 2008. |
Not long after the bus was new NBC influence replaced the cream relief with white as seen on sister vehicle 1904 (VRU127J) seen in Poole Bus Station. At this stage Hants & Dorset had been merged with Wilts & Dorset and the new company adopted NBC poppy red as the new combined fleet livery, so this green-white combination was not around for long. |
