Having started operation with an ex East Kent AEC, the colour scheme has inspired the fleet. Big Bus present the smartest open toppers on London tours, as the pictures below show.
Darling of the fleet was this ex Northern General forward entrance Routemaster, FPT593C, one of the fleet of fifty non-London and forward entrance Routemasters built. Ironically it has gravitated to the capital in its final years. It is seen waiting to take up duties early in the morning in the Victoria area. |
Once Trent 1006 (KCH106), this 1957 Leyland Titan PD2/12 was converted to open top and saw service with Grey-Green in red London livery and later Grey-Green's own colours. It appeared at ShHOWBUS at Woburn in the eighties. It was reregistered XMD47A with Big Bus.
Former London DMS2545 (THX545S) joined Big Bus from the Motts Travel Yellow Bus fleet, where it still had its roof. It is seen at Piccadilly Circus.
DMS2361 (OJD361R) was one of a diminishing huge fleet of well presented DMS class vehicles plying the streets of London. It is seen here passing a rival from the London Pride near Victoria Coach Station.
