Red Rose RR02BUS was a long time coming, originally intended for delivery in the early Autumn of 2001. As delays occured it was further delayed to gain an '02' registration and was favoured with this 'Select' mark from the DVLA. It was deliberately used sparingly until after the Queen's visit to Aylesbury in May, when it was originally intended to convey the official party during proceedings. In the event it operated the special Jubilee Park & Ride service 50 for the day. One of its early first 'official' outings was to Cobham Bus Museum to promote the Jubilee focused 2002 SHOWBUS event. The bus paused for picturesque photos in Old Amersham on the way there. |
A second view in sunny Amersham. Inside owner Chris Day had prepared a special set of laminated images as a frieze above the windows with a series of images from Her Majesty's reign. |
This view will be familiar to many as the bus depicted on our SHOWBUS promotional leaflets for 2002 and on the homepage of our website. |
The MPD Dart, RR02BUS also stopped in Chalfont St Peter on route to Cobham to pick up SHOWBUS organisers Messrs Reid and Passaway. |
And here she is finally on display at Cobham. |
