An unusual purchase for Motts, M575RJM was on a Dennis Javelin chassis and carried their first Plaxton Premier body, indeed the first Plaxton to join the fleet for some years. It is seen here at the Stoke Mandeville depot resplendent in the new livery, having masqueraded in all white when first acquired.

Another unusual purchase for the fleet at the time, T7MTT was another Plaxton bodied vehicle. This is the new Plaxton Prima body on the Volvo B7R chassis, rather than Motts' usual B10M. It also has a high seating capacity - 55. Of particular interest is that this can be reduced to 51 and 5 wheelchairs accommodated. The position of the lift and access through a special side door can be seen just over half way down the side of the vehicle. It initially partnered a DAF/Plaxton Paramount, similarly equipped, which had been in the fleet for some years.

The B7R proved popular and two more secondhand models - without wheelchair access - followed. Volvo T9MTT is seen on a school contract in Aylesbury one May morning in 2003.

Newly acquired B7R S20MTT is seen at Milton Keynes Bus Station on hire to Fraser Eagle for rail replacement work with a mammoth fleet of coaches from near and far shuttling between Milton Keynes and Hemel Hempstead. The vinyls on S20MTT are from a new supplier and less prone to fading, with a crisper yellow than before. |
Seen in Woking on a private hire for Sir William Borlase's Grammar School in Marlow is S20MTT again. The occasion saw the school's jazz band reach the national finals of the Music for Youth competition. |
