This 1954 Hamburg V6E tram, 3775, was gifted by the city to San Francisco where it arrived in 1979. It was hidden away as seen in this 1981 picture, before it was restored for the first Trolley Festival in 1983.

It is seen again after use in 1983, but again neglected. It has since rusted badly and awaits further restoration. |

This beautifully restored tram, seen on a beautiful day near the Ferry Terminal, is not all it seems. Whilst the blue of its Zurich livery matches that of the sky, the bus was actually knew to the Brussels municipality in Belgium as their 7037. The design is a licensed version of the postwar American PCC streetcar which was used widely throughout Europe. Similar trams operated in Brussels and Zurich, so at the request of San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom it was painted in the colours of San Francisco's twin city, Zurich. It may one day take on the colours of Brussels, but they wouldn't match the sky! |

In 1984, one Milan Tallero tram (1834) came to San Francisco for the summer Trolley Festivals that resulted in the construction of the F line route from Castro along the waterfront to Fisherman's Wharf. The route became so popular that MUNI's fleet of old PCC cars could not cope with the demand so ten more cars, like this - 1888, seen at Fishermans Wharf in August 2002 - were obtained. |

Demonstrating the city's reputation as an transport enthusiast's dream this picture has vintage trams, trolleys and a bus. Milan 1895 is seen in August 2008 on Market on route F to Castro. |
