Dominators dominated the Sheffield fleet for many years, but have all gone now. Like this pair, most had Alexander bodywork. Rolls Royce engines were popular for their pulling power up Sheffield's hilly terrain and SYPTE had them fitted to its MCW Metrobuses. Here 2304 (A304AAK) sports an exciting advert for the RAF and is just in the lead from 2230 (SDT230Y).

Dennis 2409 (A409YAK) is from the next Alexander bodied batch and is seen here in the Bus Station at Sheffield.

Dennis did not have it all its own way with Sheffield deliveries in the eighties and over 50 Metrobuses Mark IIs joined the fleet alongside around 250 Dominators. Sheffield's earlier Mark I Metrobuses were dispersed far and wide when withdrawn prematurely in the early nineties. MCW Metrobus II 1903 (JKY903Y) is seen here in the old livery, while a fellow Metrobus displays the simplified red and yellow scheme
behind.
