In the days of Harry Blundred's Thames Transit minibuses ruled. Stagecoach did not displace them entirely by larger buses though the use to which those remaining have been put is very different! This Stagecoach liveried large Merc was on the X31 to Abingdon and is likely bodied by Mellor.

Pulling in to the Thornhill Park & Ride site was the only Park & Ride service operated by Stagecoach in Oxford. The little blue bus operated to the famous John Radcliffe Hospital.

This Alexander bodied Mercedes 709D was seen over the 2003 New Year out of service at the Carfax. The bus was new six years earlier to Stagecoach Manchester as their 509 (N653VSS). |
