The most striking change in vehicle policy following the Stagecoach takeover of Thames Transit was the appearance of 81 seat Volvo Olympians, with Alexander bodywork. Cascading meant they effectively displaced the last of the 16 seat Transits from the fleet! This is one of the singledoor examples which were soon despatched to Stagecoach Manchester.

Dual door 516 (R416XFC) is seen in the grounds of Oxford Brookes University (OBU) Headington site on the occasion of the University's annual summer ball in June 2000. At this time Stagecoach Oxford operated the University's special bus linking their Headington and Wheatley sites. Motts Travel had built up a good relationship with Brookes since operating the OBU service as part of its 280 service Yellow Bus operation. When Yellow Bus was sold to Arriva, Motts continued to undertake private hire work for OBU and the Motts' Olympian was one of several buses assisting the Stagecoach Olympian on the Wheatley service that night.

Originally East London VA144 (R144EVX) this dual door Volvo Olympian was converted to singledoor whilst with Oxford. Seen in Bicester in early 2004, VA144/16141 has a Brookes Bus logo on the front, reflecting its use on services dedicated to Oxford Brookes University in Oxford.
