Brighton's Coach Station in the sixties was right by the sea front and also served as the Southdown coach fleet depot in the town. Besides the staging point for the London services, it also housed visiting coaches from other company fleets like this MW6G, 12 (276ECY), from the then small United Welsh coach fleet.

Former Eastern National 4206 (WNO484) was converted to open top in Essex and was numbered 2380. It passed to South Wales and was used in NBC red with a white relief brand and the reverse of that and branded "Skyrider". It is seen in United Welsh Tilling guise as 500 at the Barry Island Rally in June 2013. |

United Welsh was absorbed into South Wales in NBC days and became the trading name for the combined company's coaching unit. Added to this was the Brewers operation, when this company was acquired by NBC. From the Brewer's First fleet, 170 (K9BMS) & 173 (L8BMS), two Plaxton Premiere bodied Dennis Javelins rest at Windsor Coach Park. |
Thames Valley 794 came from United Welsh where it was 1245 (JCY992). The bus became Alder Valley 505 and as seen here at Thorn Walk, Reading, driver trainer 28. It is seen with MBL844 which was new as Thames Valley 763 in 1957 with coach seating for the Reading - London express services A and B. |
