For a while Brighton gathered together the small fleet of Bedford/Marshall JJL midibuses. Bedford 36 (UKX335X) is seen near Brighton Station.

MCW bodied Titan 28 (BUF528C) ended its days on school work with fellow Leylands in the fleet of Eynons of Trimsaran in South Wales. On the right is ex Lancaster, 205 KTJ205C), an East Lancs
bodied PD2/37. The Titan on the left is thought to be an ex Wigan Massey bodied example.

Willowbrook attempted to detract from the box like Atlantean body style with curious, yet distincive, treatment of the headlamps. This was the bodywork chosen by Brighton for its first 22 rear engined deckers, of which 81 (TUF81J) was the very first.

Subsequent deliveries had East Lancs bodies. Atlantean 57 (JFG357N) is from the first batch of ten such buses.

Brighton seemed to be numbering its Atlanteans backwards. Following on from 81-90 came 43-62, then came the batch 1-15 of which this is number 2 (TYJ2S). The East Lancs bodied exaample is in a discreet all over advertisement livery for Phoenix Assurance.
