Seen in central London, Oxford Street, this Centrewest Metrobus carries First Gold Arrow fleetnames, in common with the midibuses on routes 28 and 31, where the name was first introduced. Route 23 has an interesting history too, as it was a fictitious route number used on LT publicity for many years. |
The trend at the time for individual route marketing is clearly shown on this RML on the 23. The opportunity for more prominent First branding was also taken. |
First major route in London to be converted to minibus operation was the 28/31 group broadly speaking running from Earls Court to Golders Green. Mercedes/Alexander MA16 (F616XMS) is seen with a standing load when new. |
