Seen leaving SHOWBUS in 2004 is ESQ64993 (LK53MBV) one of three Mercedes Citaro fuel cell powered buses being used in experimental trials throughout Europe - and Perth, Western Australia. Pictures of the Transperth vehicle will appear in our Australia gallery in due course. The London models saw service on the RV1, though ESQ64993 has blinds for the D7. The crew from First London expressed some concern when stuck in the queues to enter SHOWBUS as to whether they would have enough fuel to get home: Duxford and back was obviously at the outer limits of its range. |
Standard First Dart/Marshalls, as well as doubledeck Tridents, substituted for Citaros on the RV1. Trident pictures can be found in the Trident low floor doubledeck gallery. DML41751 (X751JLO) is seen passing the Tower of London in a summer downpour in 2007.

The RV1 service slipped into "normality" and in 2010 the service was largely maintained by standard Alexander Dennis Enviro200s like DML44162 (YX10BGU) seen on the South Bank in February 2011.

The Millennium Wheel is one of the many iconic sights to be seen from the RV1 as it wends its way from Covent Garden to the Tower. Enviro200 DML44160 (YX10BGK) is seen passing the Wheel.
