MTS 1005 is one of the original trams delivered in 1981 when the initial route led them to be known as the "Tijuana Trolley". The routing took the tram line from downtown to the Mexican border, over which is the border town of Tijuana. Since then the system has been extended and trams now depart from the platform of the original - and now restored - Santa Fe downtown train station, as seen in this October 2005 shot.
