Seen at Tempe over Christmas 2003 was this Leyland Leopard, 3520, nicknamed Mr Whippy, any resemblance to an ice cream van is unintentional! Unbeknown at the time was that this bus was bodied by State Transit in their Chullora workshops in 1964. The lightweight body was a one off, though a similar body was also built on an AEC Reliance at the same time.

"Normal" Sydney Leopards were like 3752, also seen at Tempe in 2003, bodied by PMC.

Similar Leopard/PMC 1765 seen back in 2003 has since undergone restoration and has kept the French Blue livery. It is alongside a vintage White bus about which liitle information is available.

Outside Tempe depot in 2003 was Commonwealth Engineering bodied AEC Regent III 2878. Yes, that is Regent III not Regal III, shades of West Monmouthshire Omnibus Board's powerful Leyland Titan PD2 singledeckers for climbing the steep Welsh valleys. In the background are a number of withdrawn buses from the recentlytaken over North & Western fleet.

On another visit to Tempe, 2878 was parked nose in alongside a half cab undergoing major restoration.
