GREYHOUND  AUSTRALIA |
This pair of 2005 Coach Design bodied Mercedes O500RF coaches were seen at Moreland's depot as late as January 2012. Nowadays only Canberra is served from Melbourne with connecting coaches to Sydney. The coaches, still in dealer white appear to be up for disposal, having lost their Greyhound insignia along their flanks. Mercedes 81 (1456AO) kept its fleet number and moved within the Moreland Group to Phillip Island Bus Lines whereas 83 (1470AO) was sold to New England Coaches of Glen Innes, NSW. |
With Greyhound's network shrinking across the country and cities like Perth no longer served, the coaches are shrinking too. Several of the services through the Gold Coast are now worked by Toyota Coasters like 708 (519JTI) seen in Brisbane's doomed coach terminal in March 2016. Alongside is a full size Irizar Century bodied Scania K310IB, 517 (517DOG) on the Toowoomba service, which at the time was hotly contested by Murrays. Picture ref B2294 |
