Seen in August 1989 is 990 (990POK), one of several ex Tokyo Volvo B10ML articulated buses bodied by Fuji and used for transport at the Expo in Japan in 1985. Most of these buses found there way to Australia not long after the event and have been used all over the country. The bus is diving into the Queensland city's network of underground tunnels which meet in an underground bus station. |

Another Fuji bodied B10ML follows an unusual Howard-Porter bodied DAF MBG230 artic, 996 (996PVQ), one of two delivered in 1987. This picture dates from 1989 too. The bus was withdrawn as early as 1990 and saw further service with at least three New South Wales operators, North Nowra Bus Service as their number 15, Shoal Bus of Bomaderry and Valley Bus & Coach of Cobar. |

Delivered the following year were six new Volvo B10M articulated buses with these rather robotic looking Austral bodies, as featured on several standard rigid buses in the fleet. Artic 376 (376FJI) is seen in July 2004 in the mid afternoon, its appearance in service doubtless linked to school traffic movements. It was withdrawn in 2011 and was last noted in Victoria at the Werribee Open Range Zoo. |
