This was a typical site at Milehouse depot outside peak periods. Long lines of parked up Atlanteans seen around 1980. This line is mostly Park Royal bodied examples with the peaked roof domes and in the "added cream" livery. Next to the first example is an MCW "Mancunian" style and the sixth Park Royal Atlantean is in the then new, but short lived, maroon and cream livery.

This line up shows five Leyland Atlantean AN68 buses with NBC style bodywork. The older buses, 86 (GDR211N) and 89 (GDR214N) have bodies by Park Royal. Then there are Roe bodied 131 (STK131T), seen in an advertising livery for Phoenix Assurance, and 120 (OCO120S) and probably the unidentified identically liveried bus alongside.

A quartet of Atlaneans at Milehouse. From left to right we have 203 (DDR203D), one of the last batch of old style MCW bodies in the maroon livery, matching it is MCW Mancunian 209 (FJY909E), then sister bus 214 (FJY914E) in its original colours. Finally we have Roe bodied AN68 98 (LTK98R) advertising Plymouth Sound Radio and for some reason christened the Earl of Morley with no obvious connection to the radio station.

Seen atop Bretonside Bus Station is 169 again in a later livery. It is resting after a spell in service, and was one of the few doubledeckers left in the fleet back in the nineties.

This secondhand Northern Counties bodied Atlantean, 172 (SND468X) came from GM Buses in Manchester where it was 8468. As a contract vehicle the deep blue livery is likely designed to distinguish it from servce buses.
