A great celebration at the Heanor (Langley Mill) depot of Trent Barton today saw the Trent half of the company's 100th birthday party. Crowds of enthusiasts and the public enjoyed the vehicle display, stalls, bands, trips through the bus wash and rides on elderly vehicles. So popular were the free services from Nottingham and Derby that the 12.30 departure from the latter left folk behind with supposedly an hour to wait for the next bus. The Midland Classic 64 seat Routemaster left with a full load. Here we see Leyland Titans from both Trent and Barton, the Barton one characteristically more flamboyant. From Trent we have Willowbrook bodied Leyland Titan PD3 1054 (LRC454) and from Barton Titan PD1 580 (KNN254) with Duple lowbridge body. Alonside is a Bristol VR from the associated former Midland General fleet. SHOWBUS is planning to celebrate Trent's 100th birthday on September 22nd at Long Marston. |
