Modernisation of the Glasgow fleet is under way under the ownership of FirstBus. R151EHS is one of many Alexander bodied Olympians to enter service recently, this one as VO151. It is seen arriving at EFE Showbus when new, with Greater Glasgow fleetnames. |
Previous Alexander bodied Olympians were the more conventional RL bodied style. This one is a number sold in 2000 to First Leicester, for whom it is seen running, still in First Glasgow livery. |
Another Glasgow Olympian in Leicester, promoting the new 'Yellow Line' city route, P183TGD is seen awaiting refuelling at the depot alongside a Duple 300 bodied Dennis Falcon. An East Lancs Dominator has also been seen in the livery, but without the fading of the yellow into the white. |

23801 Alexander Atlantean GLASGOW. A new style of Alexander body on the Leyland Atlantean chassis, appears this month in the hugely requested livery of Glasgow City Transport. The distinctive green, orange and cream livery is causing great interest and an early order is recommended to all collectors. SGD 684, fleet number LA104, is on route 60 to Maryhill and displays adverts for Crown Wallpapers and The Scotsman Newspaper. |
E27204 Leyland TD1 GLASGOW CORPORATION. One of the most striking and colourful liveries to appear on the Leyland TD1 was that of Glasgow Corporation. This very collectable model features fleet number 111 registered GE 2446 on route to George Square, which now resides at the Lathalmond Scottish Vintage Bus Museum. |
